June 24, 2021 - Dr. Jessica Braunel Joins Pearle Vision

(Wausau, Wisc.) - Pearle Vision is pleased to announce that Dr. Jessica Bloom Braunel has joined their Northcentral Wisconsin practice locations in Mosinee and Antigo as an optometrist.

Dr. Braunel received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from UW - Stevens Point and went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. She completed her externships at Atwater Eye Care Center (Bloomington, IN), IU Student Health Center (Bloomington, IN), the Indianapolis Eye Care Center, John Kenyon Eye Institute (New Albany, IN), and Milo C. Huempfner VA (Green Bay, WI).

“Dr. Braunel cares deeply about taking care of her patients and creating a comfortable setting for patients to receive excellent eye care,” says Dr. Jeremy Goetsch, owner of the practice group. “She is committed to serving patients in Northcentral Wisconsin, and we’re so happy to have her on our team.”

Dr. Braunel’s passion for ocular healthcare first began when she worked in an optometry practice owned by her uncle, Dr. Thomas Prichard.

“I’ve been passionate about helping patients for many years now since working with my uncle, and I’m so excited to meet new patients with Pearle Vision,” says Dr. Braunel. “He showed me that it’s very important to develop strong relationships with patients so I can help them manage their eye health to the fullest extent possible.”

In addition to routine primary care, Dr. Braunel is particularly interested in ocular disease (such as macular degeneration, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy). She has clinical training and experience in the diagnosis and non-surgical management of both acute and chronic ocular conditions.

“Dr. Braunel has the right skill set and personality to be a great healthcare partner to our patients in Mosinee and Antigo,” says Dr. Goetsch. “Most importantly, she is passionate about providing individualized, friendly, comprehensive care to everyone who sits in her exam chair.”

Dr. Braunel is originally from the Wausau area and is thrilled to be back in the area serving patients. When she is not in the office, Dr. Braunel and her husband, Kurt, enjoy the outdoors with tennis, swimming, and kayaking along with spending time with family.
