(Mosinee, Wisc.) - After serving the eye care needs of the people in Central Wisconsin for 42 years, Dr. Kathi Leach is retiring. Her final day seeing patients is June 9, 2021.
Dr. Leach began her career in Mosinee working for Drs. Fleming, Kuehl & Leach in 1979. In 1981 she purchased the practice and moved it to its present location in 1984. She has been active in the community serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board, the Indianhead Golf Course Board and the Board of the Community Center of Hope. She has served on the Wisconsin Optometry Association Board and was nominated and elected to the Wisconsin Optometry Examining Board for eight years.
“It has been a pleasure to serve the Mosinee community for the past 42 years as an optometrist,” says Dr. Leach. “I have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful people and developing lifelong relationships with many patients. I appreciate your loyalty throughout the years and I will take the memories of all that I have experienced with me into retirement.”
In August 2019, Dr. Leach handed the reins of her practice to Dr. Jeremy Goetsch, owner of Midline Vision Group. He and his team have since changed the name of the practice to Pearle Vision.
“We are very thankful to Dr. Leach for being a leader in the optometry field in Central Wisconsin and for working with us as we put down roots in Mosinee,” says Dr. Goetsch. “She has done so much for the community and for her patients, and we wish her all the best in her retirement.”
“As I move to new adventures, it is a great satisfaction to me that my patients will continue to receive excellent eye care from Dr. Goetsch and his team,” says Dr. Leach. “I want to thank my family and especially my husband Michael, who is also an optometrist, for all his support and help over the years.”
Due to current public health conditions, no formal celebration will be held. If you wish to share any memories, notes may be mailed to Pearle Vision, c/o Dr. Kathi Leach, 412 Third Street, Mosinee, WI 54455.
